Future Digital

Future Digital is a Special Interest Group formed by PIKOM to be a focal point for policy research and advocacy for the digital and tech industry. We are an independent and inclusive voice not only to the industry, but also to the government on policy and programmes.

Our main roles and objectives:

  • To be focal point for policy research and advocacy for the ICT industry
  • To be the independent and inclusive voice to the government on policy and programmes
  • To raise the profile of PIKOM as a thought leader in policy development
  • To increase awareness and education in the industry on policy issues and developments
  • To prepare the industry and country on international policy developments
  • To communicate the position PIKOM through mass media

In  April  2020,  Future  Digital  produced  a  paper  and  submitted  to  the  Prime  Minister  for  consideration.  The title of the paper, “MEASURES TO ASSIST THE TECH INDUSTRY TO MITIGATE THE  ECONOMIC  IMPACT  OF  COVID-19”  was  also  carried  in  a  subsequent  press  release.  PIKOM is happy to note that some recommendations were adopted such as the setting up of a National Sandbox and allocating funds for start-ups
